Starting career!!

Hi, this is Tsukasa, and I had a job interview with Macy's at South Center Mall in Tukwila. That was actually my first official job interview, and it started with a group interview. There were seven or eight candidates, and many of them were young and not serious about this job interview because this interview was for a sales associate position which is an entry level. I was very surprised that many of them did not seem to understand the responsibilities of sales associates well, and they did not know what they want to do in the future. Anyway, recruiters asked us basic questions and we moved to have a one on one interview. By that time, I was sick and not able to think anything rationally, but I was offered a job!!! However, a first job I was offered was a mattress sales associate~_~ I was like "what the heck!!!!!! I had a BA degree with fashion merchandising and they would offer me to sell mattresses?!" I was a little bit humiliated and told the recruiter what I wanted. She was very sweet and considered about my situation and found another opening for me which was in the men's furnishing department. This is not what I really want but better than the other, so I tried to take it. Then, she showed me a work schedule, which sucked. I have to work every Sunday, so I will be able to attend the church. I concerned about it and asked her to give me time to think about it. After the interview, I talked to Emily and her parents about this situation, and we found a compromise. I won't have to work until noon on Sunday, so I will attend 9.a.m. sacrament meeting and the Sunday class, then I will work after that. This is very difficult situation for both Emily and I, but we need to stick with this opportunity to SURVIVE~_~ Anyway, at least I got a full time job, so we are very happy now!!!

Tsukasa-kun,
Congrats on your brand new life-your marriage and career. The next time I visit Seattle, I'll make sure to stop by South Center Mall, and, of course, I am going to get a top-notch service from you, right!?

Good luck!

Don't worry, I'm sure your work will eventually give you Sundays off if you tell them it's important to you. My work does--at first I worked less, but then they gave me more hours!

Congratulations on getting the job, Tsukasa-san!

When I'm at school, I have to work Saturdays and Sundays, too. Fortunately, it's not until 1 P.M., which means I still have time to go to church the next morning. I worked two jobs, and sometimes I was scheduled back-to-back, which means that the only time I got to sleep was in between. D; But no more of that! But I'm a college student who doesn't have to worry about bills and other payments. @.@

がんばって! I'm sure everything will work out.

I'm sorry the job situation didn't work out in an ideal way. I hope the situation improves though, and that you're able to get Sundays off as well as work in a department more suited to you.
Congrats on getting hired even when not feeling so great though! That just shows how really prepared, dedicated, and hard-working you are! I'm sure you'll do wonderfully. :)
Best wishes!

Congrats on the job@ Like Alli said, just give it a bit and you'll get your Sundays off.

And congrats to the apparently very happy couple. May your marriage be blessed.
